New York City native Kenya Amos knew she wanted to be a business owner one day. Little did she know her love of food would launch her into the restaurant industry. Ms Amos graduated from Old Dominion University in Norfolk Virginia.Upon graduating she relocated from Virginia to the Atlanta area. She knew it was time to venture out into the world of entrepreneurship.
After a year of brainstorming it hit her that she should take her love of southern cruise and music and develop a restaurant lounge concept we now know as Bqe Restaurant and Lounge. Bqe is now a stable in the Old fourth ward area of Atlanta.
Customers travel from all around the country to sample the signature Red Velvet Chicken and Waffles. Bqe is now a food and entertainment hub. Who would’ve thought that some great family recipes and a love of entertaining would turn into a great business venture.
With aspirations to open multiple restaurants, Ms Amos is intent to expand not only in the restaurant and hospitality industry but other business ventures as well.
Ms Amos currently resides in the Atlanta area where she resides with her husband and two children.

Chef Virgil Harper has quickly become one of the most recognizable chefs based out Atlanta, GA.
Hailing from Atlantic City, NJ, Chef Harper has always been fascinated with food and cooking since youth. Chef Harper worked his way up the culinary ranks through good old-fashioned blood, sweat and tears. Starting out in one of America’s successful casinos the Borgata Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City.
Standing by his belief to use the best ingredients, Chef Harper taps into the many lessons learned while he worked in some of the best restaurant kitchens worldwide.
With over 20 years + of experience, Chef Harper has earned the respect of professional chefs as well as restaurant managers and owners. He is noted for his capacity to teach, guide and advise others in the practical aspects of food quality and profitable food-service operations.
The charismatic chef has provided his services to some of today’s most notable individuals.
Chef Harper has executed the Royal Tea Party Event menu with Darren McGrady former Chef of Queen Elizabeth. Prepared and executed the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs dinner and with menu development. One of the highlights of his career was preparing an intimate private dinner for U.S. Vice President Joe Biden as well as catering for Martha Stewarts book signing and a private statue unveiling dinner for NBA Great Dominique Wilkins.
“Culinary Arts is more than a job for me. It’s my passion and one of my first loves. The total dining experience is the one and only way I can express myself without words and still have the entire world understand me,” says Harper.
Chef Harper also believes cuisine is a very powerful tool that can break down barriers of race, language, economic backgrounds, and ethnic diversities.
Most recently Chef Harper was invited as a chef for the James Beard Foundation Dinner Honoring Chef James Hemings former Chef of President Thomas Jefferson who was the first slave freed by the President.
Chef Harper is currently the Executive Chef at one of Atlanta’s top restaurants BQE (Brooklyn Queens Expressway).
Eleanorjan is no stranger to the restaurant scene. She brings a depth of management experience to BQE from every corner of the industry. A graduate of the Bernard Baruch College Zicklin School of Business, she honed her skills in Brooklyn, NY, managing small, underground boutique restaurants.
She soon moved on to managing the celebrity hot-spot Xanadu, a 35,000 sq. ft. restaurant and disco club in New York City. Over the course of her career, Eleanor has served as a General Manager for Western Reserve (Wendy’s), Training Manager for the Country Kitchens, Inc., and Regional Manager for General Mills (Olive Garden and Red Lobster).
After being recruited to Atlanta, she built a successful business consultancy serving mostly the club and restaurant niche. We are proud to have such a savvy business woman on our team.
Amir brings nearly 20 years of experience in the service and hospitality industry to his position at BQE. Starting at 16 years old in the banquet department at Executive Caterer’s, his experience includes server/bartender at the 5 diamond rated Classics restaurant at the Intercontinental Hotel in Cleveland, Supervisor and a part of the opening team at the Horsehoe Casino in Cleveland, and Manager at the critically acclaimed Zanzibar for over a year. In his spare time Amir also enjoys volunteerism and working on technology companies.
